Costa Rica Series
My time in Costa Rica was very well spent. I was house-sharing with my sister who had been living there for several years. I had spent six months studying Spanish before I went and enjoyed listening to people speaking as well as contributing my small bit. We went everywhere: to the beach, restaurants, motels, vacation spots, stores, and church. It was exhilarating! I came away with the impression that Costa Ricans are basically a very happy people. They don't have access to a lot of modern conveniences, but they are thankful with what they do have and they work very hard to make a living for themselves. They do everything they can to make things better for their children and hold nothing back when it comes to their education. Family takes care of family and that is very evident in their everyday lives. In these images, I am hoping to show my impressions of the country and the people and hope that is conveyed to you as the viewer. These paintings were all painted on black gallery wrap.
